The Pronoun «On»

The pronoun «On» is frequently used in French.
«On» is part of the 3rd person singular and therefore is conjugated as such (il/elle/on).
«On» could be translated as ‘you’, ‘we’, ‘they’ or ‘one’ *.

* These are the so-called generic pronouns.

💬 For Example:
On dit que la France est un pays trĂšs joli.
– They say that France is a very beautiful country.

«On» is used to create a feeling of bonding and unity which is why it is often translated as ‘we’.

💬 For Example:
