The Spanish simple past (imperfecto)

The equivalent of the simple past in Spanish is called “imperfecto”.
The imperfecto is being used to describe events that happened in the past.


Builiding the imperfecto:

 
for -ar verbs:
verb stem + aba/ abas/ aba/ ábamos/ abais/ aban
 
for -er/-ir verbs:
verb stem + Ă­a/ Ă­as/ Ă­a/ Ă­amos/ Ă­ais/ Ă­an
