The Superlative of Italian Adverbs

Here, again, we have to distinguish between a relative and an absolute superlative.

The relative superlative of Italian adverbs

The second grade of comparison actually looks the same as the first.
To make it clear that the superlative is meant here, you can add “di tutti/tutte” (of all).

💬 Example:
Roberto corre più rapidamente di tutti. – Roberto runs the fastest of all.

The absolute superlative of Italian adverbs

The absolute superlative of adverbs is derived from the absolute superlative of adjectives.
Here too, the ending “-mente” is added to the feminine singular form.

💬 Example:
Roberto corre velocissimamente. – Roberto runs very fast.
