Future Tense(s) in Italian

Let’s talk about plans for tomorrow!
Look at these two examples.

💬 Examples:
Domani vado al cinema. ‒ I'm going to the cinema tomorrow.
Domani andrò al cinema. ‒ Tomorrow I will go to the cinema.

The first sentence with the verb “vado” (present tense) talks about something that is certainly going to happen in the near future.
We can translate this sentence with the “going to-future” into English.
These types of sentences often come together with a “timer marker” like “domani” (tomorrow) or “prossima semana” (next week).
This sentence is typical for spoken, everyday Italian.

The second sentence shows the future with a verb tense, the ”futuro semplice”.
Translation into English, you use the “will-future”.
This sentence is typical for written Italian.
