The Present Conditional of Italian verbs

The condizionale presente (present conditional) in Italian is used for polite requests, suggestions, wishes or possibilities.

It is formed by removing the last vowel from the infinitive of the verb and replacing it with the corresponding endings.
With verbs ending in “-are”, however, the “-a” of the ending is replaced by an “-e”.

💬 Examples:
Mi potrebbe aiutare? – Could you help me?
Vorrei un cappuccino. – I would like a cappuccino.
Al tuo posto mi scuserei. – If I were you, I would apologise.
