Do I need prior knowledge of Spanish?
No. All three programs come in several levels – from your first word to advanced. You choose your level and can change it at any time.
What is the difference between the Coach and the Role-plays?
The Coach works with you on your command of the language: talking freely about your topic, practising grammar, special fields from leisure and work. The Role-plays give you a fixed situation and a role: doctor, job interview, government office. One builds the skill, the other rehearses the real thing.
Do I have to use a microphone?
In the Coach and in the Role-plays you can speak or type – just as you like. The Pronunciation trainer needs the microphone, because it scores how you sound – and it is the only way to compare your recording with the original afterwards.
What happens to my voice recordings?
During pronunciation training your device sends the recording to Microsoft to be scored. The processing takes place in a data centre inside the EU (Sweden) – the recording does not leave Europe. It is not stored, neither by us nor there; all that stays with us is the result in points. Only pronunciation, stress and completeness are assessed – you are not identified as a person by your voice. How long can I use the Language Studio?
