Exceptions in building the plural form of feminine Serbian nouns:

As a rule we already know that most feminine Serbian nouns end in -a.
However, if you encounter a feminine noun ending in a consonant, you can treat it like a masculine noun and add an -и / -i for building the plural.

For example:

болест / bolest – болести / bolesti
(disease – diseases)

ствар / stvar – ствари / stvari
(thing – things)
