Building the passive participle

You will need this verb form to build (or recognize) the passive voice in Croatian.

How do you find the infinitive stem of a Croatian verb?
It's simple, just cut the infinitive ending -ti or -ći.
(You can also go back to the chapter on the infinitive.)

Which endings do you add to the infinitive stem to build the passive participle?

m: -n (sg.) / -ni (pl.)
f: -na (sg.) / -ne (pl.)
n: -no (sg.) / -na (pl.)

💡 For example:
Lijepo je biti voljen. – It's nice to be loved.
Torba mu je pokisla. – His bag got wet in the rain.
Kuća mu se zapalila. – His house went up in flames.
