Past tense

The past tense is formed by changing the suffix -ĹĄ of the infinitive.
The suffix depends on the gender and number:

  • -l in masculine gender (pĂsa-ĹĄ = pĂsa-l)
  • -la in feminine gender (kresli-ĹĄ = kresli-la)
  • -lo in neutral gender (chodi-ĹĄ = chodi-lo)
  • -lo in plural (vari-ĹĄ = vari-li)

The past tense is formed following this rule:
1st and 2nd person singular and plural
past participle of the main verb + the conjugated auxiliary verb byĹĄ (to be)

3rd person singular and plural:
past participle of the main verb is sufficient

ja robil (m)/robila (f) som ‒ I did
