Indefinite articles in Greek

In Greek only there only exist singular forms of indefinite articles.
Similar to the definite articles, there are three indefinite articles:
ένας (together with male nouns), μια/μία (female), ένα (neuter).


νας for male nouns

(NOM) ένας άντρας – a man
(GEN) ενός άντρα – of a man, a man’s
(ACC) έναν άντρα – a man


μια / μία for female nouns

(NOM) μια/μία γυναίκα – a woman
(GEN) μιας/μιάς γυναίκας – of a woman, a woman’s
(ACC) μια/μία γυναίκα – a woman


ένα for neuter nouns

(NOM) ένα παιδί – a child
(GEN) ενός παιδιού – of a child, a child’s
(ACC) ένα παιδί – a child

Please note:
The indefinite article in Greek does not exist in a plural form.
